INTENT OF TRAINING: Aviana offers this Aerial Yoga Teacher Training to help carve the way for the booming and growing aerial yoga industry that is blossoming each day.  The demand for well-educated, confident, and heart-felt instructors is rising and with this teacher training program Aviana intends to help provide the tools and resources to those that are truly passionate about the versatile gifts of an aerial yoga practice.  There are many avenues one can take with this certification and Aviana would like to be apart of this journey and plant the seeds that will grow into impactful, profound instructors.
 
THE PROGRAM: The program is a structured with 25 contact hours completed over the course of a 3-day, 4-day, or retreat designed intensive coupled with 25 hours of self-study and practice teaching hours.  Once the intensive is complete there are 4 modules that are to be completed within 4 months of the launch date of training.  Certification is not guaranteed, as the additional modules must be completed to satisfaction in order to obtain the certificate.  Aviana honors the full integrity of a learning program designed in such a way to bring out the unique essence and passion of the prospective instructor pursuing an opportunity to instruct and guide others in the practice of aerial yoga.
 
CERTIFICATION: This is a 50-hour aerial yoga teacher training program.  Presently, with the growing industry of various forms of aerial apparatus certifications there are 25-hour and 50-hour certification programs.  Aviana seeks to produce instructors of integrity that honor the principles of yoga, while integrating in their own uniqueness and insight.  We stress the importance of safety and welcome instructors that are truly passionate about the practice of aerial yoga.  It is a requirement to already have obtained your 200-hour yoga instructor certification OR have 3+ years of teaching movement and fitness, applicants with a strong history of yoga participation and/or experience instructing students/clients in another field may also be considered.
  
DIRECTOR: Holly L. Johnson, offers a diversified background with years of working in the health industry from the Western to Eastern dynamics.  She has been practicing yoga for over a decade, instructing for half a decade, and additionally holds experience in kinesiology, integrative wellness, aromatherapy, spirit animal medicine, thai massage, reiki, chakra therapy, and nutritional therapy.  This program was founded to fulfill the need for a certification in aerial yoga that aligned with the breath, the rhythm, the fluidity, and integrity of yoga.  Aviana is an infusion of yogic philosophy, plant medicine, chakra therapy, and spirit animal medicine stemming from the heart and soul.
 
Please complete all of the following information fully. Return this Application and Registration Agreement, together with $500 deposit, to Aviana. If for any reason, an application is denied, Aviana will promptly refund all deposits paid. By completing and submitting all attached documentation as required, you, the applicant, represent that all information is true and complete, and that you agree to be bound by all of the conditions established by Aviana for its 50-hour Aerial Yoga Teacher Training.

    Cancellation Policy

    Please note that there will be no refunds or discounts for arriving late, leaving early, flight cancellations, travel delays or illness. If you cancel your participation in a retreat for any reason, the cancellation policy below will apply, with no exceptions. We wish we could compensate people for unforseen circumstances (injury, family emergency, etc), but we have costs already incurred when reserving retreat centers. We have designed our cancellation policy to be as compassionate as possible in the case that your plans change. But to protect yourself further, we strongly encourage you to purchase travel insurance.

    IF YOU CANCEL THE RETREAT:

    90 days or more prior to the start of the retreat, you receive:  Any money paid above the $500 non-refundable deposit, less a credit card fee of 4%, we cannot refund any travel costs incurred.
    40-89 days prior to the start of the retreat, you receive:  50% credit of the cost of the full retreat toward another Aviana Yoga Retreat within 12 months, and will forfeit the remainder.  You are still responsible for the FULL cost of the training/retreat.  All payments must be received in full by 15 days prior to the retreat and any remaining balance will be charged to the credit card on file on that date if not already paid.
    0-39 days prior to the start of the yoga retreat, you receive:  no refunds or credits will be given.

    IF WE CANCEL THE RETREAT:

    If we do cancel a trip due too few participants, we will refund to you all deposits and payments you have paid. We cannot however compensate you for airfare or travel costs incurred. In the unlikely event that Aviana Yoga must cancel a retreat due to weather, natural disaster or political upheaval, we cannot guarantee a refund – it will be depending on receiving a refund from the venue / tour operator we work with. To cover these risks, we highly recommend you purchase travel insurance.

    TRAVEL INSURANCE: The best way to protect yourself from any unforeseen circumstance is to purchase trip insurance. Travel Insurance can protect you in case:
    • You cancel your participation in the retreat
    • Retreat is cancelled due to weather, natural disaster, or not enough participants to run the trip
    • Lost baggage
    • Medical expenses and the cost of repatriation should you become ill or injured
    We recommend TRAVELGUARD, which offers a variety of travel insurances, including the option for a comprehensive “cancel for any reason” policy. If you cancel your retreat – for any reason – your airfare, hotel, retreat costs, etc. up until 48 hours prior to travel, will be covered. This comprehensive package is called the ”Gold Package Cancel for Any Reason Policy”. You must contact Travelguard and purchase the policy within 15 days of buying your airline tickets or incurring any costs for any part of your travel. You can also just insure your air tickets. Travelguard can give you quotes for each scenario.

    Curriculum and Training Schedule 

    In order to pass the training and receive certification, all students are required to meet all of the application requirements within 5 months of the launch date of the training and fully participate in each and every aspect of the training. This means:
     
    1. Full attendance to the 25 hour intensive
    2. Demonstration of qualifications to teach an Aviana style aerial yoga class
    3. Completion of a written paper, 1,000 words on a subject of your choosing, suggestions are given on the training module you will receive
    4. Passing a final examination (it's pretty easy and straightforward, you got this!)
    5. Submit evaluation forms from students that have shared in your practice teaching, in addition to self-evaluation forms, practicing teaching hours can be completed with 1 student at a time or in a class setting, it all depends on what you have available to you. 
     
    All students are required:
    • To be on time
    • Attend every class and event with an open mind and open heart. This means conducting yourself within the spirit and integrity of the training, in a harmonious and cooperative manner, strictly following all schedules and deadlines.
    • If all requirements are fulfilled to satisfaction, the student will receive a final certification.
     
    As this application will become a binding agreement regarding participation in the training, it is important that the terms stated are understood and agreed to.

    Extensions:
    In the event that the participant is unable to complete the required modules within the 5-month timeframe allotted with the registration for this teacher training, the student may request for an extension.  There is a fee required in order for the extension to be granted and the student must submit payment at the time of the request before the 5-month deadline has passed.  A student may request up to 2 extensions to be granted on their training requirements for a maximum of a 4-month extension.  If the requirements are still not met after 2 extensions, the student would be required to attend another teacher training intensive in order to receive their certification.
    Extension Fees are as follows:
    1-month extension - $100
    2-month extension - $300
    3-month extension - $500
     
    To request an extension, please send an email to avianayoga@gmail.com with the length of time you are requesting the extension for and the projected new deadline you would like to request along with how you would like to pay for your extension.

    Additional Terms and Conditions

    1. By agreeing to participate in the teacher training, you represent your commitment to teaching aerial yoga and agree to uphold the yogic principles that are the basis for teaching. If for any reason, Aviana deems that you are not operating in the spirit and integrity of the training or following the terms of this Agreement, you may be asked to leave the training and you will not be entitled to a refund of any portion of any amounts previously paid.  
    2. Once you receive a final certification, you may independently teach at any location of your choosing, and you may own your own studio.  You will be responsible for all costs and expenses if you breach this agreement. By signing this letter, you are agreeing that these terms are reasonable.
    3. You must also understand that your certification as an aerial yoga teacher does not make you an agent or employee of Aviana. The use of the Aviana name in conjunction with the advertisement of classes and in studios is granted on a case by case basis and MUST BE REQUESTED IN WRITING.
    4. By submitting this document, you unconditionally represent that you are in good health and fully able to perform all physical requirements of the training. You understand and acknowledge that you are to receive the instruction of the training and you will not hold Aviana or its teachers or representatives in the training to any higher standard of care than that applicable to the standard of care required of similar yoga training and certification programs in the industry. You agree to waive and release Aviana, and its owners, agents, instructors and employees from all liability for any and all loss or damage on account of injury or death whether caused by negligence or otherwise while you are in the training or while practicing yoga or other activities, programs or education offered by Aviana. You expressly agree to hold Aviana and its owners, agents and employees harmless for any fees or costs or expenses that may be incurred out of necessity to defend any lawsuit instituted by virtue of injury or death or damage you may suffer.
    5. You also agree that these provisions are intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the laws of the State of Colorado and that if any portion is held to be invalid, the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full force and effect. You understand and agree that this Agreement is subject to the laws of the State of Colorado and any dispute will be resolved only under the laws of the State of Colorado.
